32 or 64 bits? You may not even know but your desktop or laptop computer may be running a 32 bit version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, or especially if a newer computer, you may have a 64 bit version. Church Secretary for Windows 2017 should work fine with either one, however, if you have a 64 bit OS and do not already have Microsoft Office installed you may get a database error when you start the program. There is a solution. Below is also in the Online Help File. A Video is available on this site to show the problem and solution.
If you are using an older version of Microsoft Windows, the operating system software needed by the program to use the database should already be installed. However, if you have a new version like Microsoft Windows 10 it is possible the underlying software to connect to and use a local Microsoft Access database is not installed. If that is the case you will need to download and install the Microsoft Access Database Engine software: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
